Update....Please read this!

I have a strong belief that people are good, most people anyway.  I have alot of faith in the human race to assess a situation and do the right thing.  I realize everybody is not going to do that.
Some people have voiced that there is a possibility that fans or people not known by the family will try to show up at the Funeral for Casey's PawPaw, Bill James.  I strongly urge you to NOT do this!!  This is a very private time in their lives, and they need to grieve the loss of a man who meant the world to them.  It would be a selfish act if someone tried to show up just to get a glimpse of Casey.  The family is asking to respect their privacy at this time.

So I'm asking.....no... begging, for everyone to please abide by the family's wishes, and give them their space, thats the best thing a fan can do for this family now.

Many thanks, and have a good day.

  1. Thanks girl, it really needed to be said, because some people are worried that some self righteous fans are gonna show up and crash the whole funeral services! I truly hope that Casey's Fans are smarter than that! I think they are, but you never know!

  2. Having worked in the Funeral Industry, I was shocked to see the service information hit the net. But times change and things happen. Its a very private time for this family. I'm glad you spoke on this issue. :)

  3. Well said Glenda, I completely agree... Thank you! This is a very painful time for the family and they need/deserve that private time to grieve. Out of love for Casey, I hope everyone will respect that and not upset him anymore than he already is :( Much love and prayers going out to the family.

  4. I agree Glenda. Casey's fan love him so much and the best way to show that love is to give him respect. Please send donations to St Jude in his name. I hope everyone will have an opportunity to meet him, just not now. Jeanette Wiggins

  5. I can't begin to imagine that anyone connected with any of the official links listed here would even think of attending unless encouraged by the family. It's so totally inconceivable to me .... maybe because like you, Glenda, I believe in the ability of good people knowing the right thing to do. And those here are good people! As far as posting service information, it's publicly available on the Funeral Home website and easily obtainable. It's there for a reason; to make pertinent information conveniently available to friends and family. My guess is that more likely people who probably should be there will stay away for fear of intruding.

  6. Can't agree with you more Glenda. Fans who really loves Casey and his family will stay away. That's just the normal thing to do. Lisette

Glenda, I love the wording in your statement. i definitely know this is true.most people , especially anyone who cares about the James family, would not disrespect them by crashing a funeral just because they knew Casey was there. but as you said , in different words, there are people who will surprize you with a whole new level of nonthinking and heartlessness. however, i find it very hard to think that anyone who knows anything about Casey James as a feeling human being would want to hurt him or his family for selfishness.unless they have some kind of mental illness. sorry but thats the only thing that would make them do it.it just feels like they would really want to protect him from unnecessary heartache. on my way home from work i was saying a prayer for Casey and his family for God to let the love and faith that has sustained them through everything else to sustain them now as well. and will continue praying. donated to st. Jude and the cancer society. would do much more good than flowers, i think . although it was so kind of whoever sent the flowers from the fan club. God bless them. ..and God bless you and all the other Casey fans too Glenda

  9. I just pray that no one shows up and causes any problems....so worried about it. I do know they are doing ok, as much as they can right now. So hopefully nothing will go wrong! Thank yall for letting me know what you think, I really appreciate the comments on this! :)

  10. Casey has attracted some very good folks to his music... and those honorable people will respect the families' wishes on this. We should all be praying for them and if anyone wants to send flowers, cards etc... then that should be the extent of it.

Everyone in the James family (including Casey) has always treated the fans very well... so we all need to respect them during their time of loss.
