Heading out soon to see Casey James in Kansas City & a note from Casey....

Hey yall!!  I took off for a while didn't I??  Well, there's really not a lot going on, so I wanted to have something to talk about before starting a new post!  :)
On Thanksgiving Day....in true Casey James fashion....he took time from his day, after months of a gruelling schedule....to say something to  his fans.  He really does appreciate us, and I have never doubted that.  He  turned on his phone, in the middle of his Thanksgiving Day with family and friends, to say thank you to us....his twitter family! :)

Wow!!  That was a really really good yellow note!!  He called us his family!!  I love that!!  He really is a precious soul!!   And I'm soooooo glad he finally got some much needed family time and time off of the road and all these appearances!  Surely he was dragging by the time he made it back to Texas....bless his heart!  But playing and singing is what he loves.....and the traveling is just the necessary but tiring part of it all!

Well, in just a few hours I'll be boarding a plane in Dallas headed to the show I thought I'd never even hear of, must less get to go to!  Casey and Bucky  (among others) will be performing on the same stage at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City, Mo.!!!!!  This is absolutely unbelievable to me!!!  I am in total amazement that I'm able to be so blessed to be there and witness these two wonderful artists perform together!  I just shed tears of happiness when I realized I was going to be able to make it to this show!!  And I had so much support, love and well wishes from the fans.... I get a little misty now just thinking about it!  Casey has brought together an amazing group of people with hearts of gold and so much love to give!!  I am thankful every day I live, for finding all of you beautiful people!!   And I will always be grateful to Casey for making that happen!!  Without him, we most likely would have never met!

Ok folks....I'm out of here until I get back from my show!  I will try to do some tweeting while I'm gone.  If you want to follow me on Twitter, I'm    @CEJTxGal

Until next time....

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful time this Thanksgiving!  It is a time to reflect.....and to be grateful and thankful for what you have.  I know I don't do that near enough, and I will be making up for lost time on Thursday!
We are headed to East Texas to my sister's home to just relax, visit, drink a few spirits....and Cook!!   I am not the best cook, but where  I'm lacking.....my sister makes up for!!  She is a fantastic cook!  So really looking forward to being in the kitchen with her, helping out, and hanging out and catching up.....oh and drinking wine while we cook!  That's her thing....really.  I'm not into that dark wine that stays room temperature......ugh.....nope, I'll stick to my white zinfindale (I know, I spelled it wrong...) or champagne!   Oh, but I make a really good Lime Salad!!  Of course....there is no cooking involved!!  :)

I hope Casey is already home and relaxing since he hasn't done that in months!  And I hope everyone can relax, give all the voting and requesting a break for a day, and just relax, and enjoy your family.....and life.  I think Casey would not want us stressing out over all the support thing on a holiday.  So let's just enjoy it, and be thankful for all we have, including Casey's music.

Everyone who is traveling, please do so with care, and get back home safe and sound!  Happy Thanksgiving!!  :)

I'll be back Friday afternoon.....

Until then.....

Casey James plays Lakeland, FL. at the Music Ranch

Finally!  I'm able to set down and get this show posted!!  I've been up to my ears in things to do around my house and in town, so I'm late!!  So here we go!

From what I gather, Casey was a little late getting on stage, about 7:15 or so when he walked on stage.  And the crowd was enthusiastic to say the least!!!  They were ready for some Casey!!  There were lots of fans there, ready to sing along with every song they knew, and he looked happy as a bug in a rug!!  :)
He started off his 9 song acoustic set with one that is becoming a fan favorite, a Tab Benoit cover....called "So High."   I myself had not heard of this song before Casey sang it, and I have to say, it is a very good song!!  I love the way Casey puts his own spin on it too!!   He followed that with one he wrote about this bar he used to play at in Texas, called "Crazy Tonight."  He then sang my personal favorite, (well, one of them) "The Good Life," and then one of his older originals, "Shine Your Shoes."  Then, he went into the best song he's ever written, (in my opinion), the beautiful, until recently, "untitled" song called "Love the way you miss me."  Ok, I have to admit.....that one's my favorite!!   Then he sang the crowd pleasing, toe tappin' "Small Town Saturday Night."  He then went into the well known "Polk Salad Annie".....with his guitar being wailed upon!!  I almost feel sorry for the poor instrument.... but love the results he gets!!  He followed that with the newer arrangement of "Drive."   I'm still trying to figure out how his fingers move so quickly up and down the neck of that guitar!!!  Excellent work.....just amazing!!   He ended the night with his Top 40 single, "Let's Don't Call It A Night."    Here is the setlist.....

Crazy Tonight
The Good Life
Shine your Shoes

Casey James at Dixie Roadhouse in Cape Coral FL. tonight & a stop by US 103.5 radio staion!

Casey is in Cape Coral, Florida today, for a show at the Dixie Roadhouse, sponsored by radio station Cat Country 107.1.   The station advertises this as a FREE show, that starts at 6:00 EST, so if your in the area and can get there, by all means, please do!!  It's located at 1023 SE 47th Terrace, Downtown Cape Coral, Florida.  And the phone # is.... 239-541-7900

Earlier today, Casey dropped by radio station US 103.5 in the Tampa area to do a 4 song set which was streamed LIVE and you can listen to it HERE.   They also did us all a huge favor by making videos of the whole set, which will be available later on today.   (( UPDATE:  I haven't been able to get the videos as yet.))   As Casey chatted between songs, he divulged he had recorded 14 songs, of which only 10 will make the album!   And Casey, along with his label, is now faced with making the difficult decision of which songs to choose.  If I were Casey, I would not want to have to make that decision, since every song he has unveiled for us has been a beautiful description of who Casey is as an artist!!  Who he is, comes through very well in his songs!
We have a fan who was in the audience at the radio station's Best Buy Theater to witness first hand Casey's performance this morning.  Thanks to Debbie I. for her very nice pictures of Casey, sporting the hair pulled back look.  today!

Wait!!!  Is that the 'man bun'?   I can't really tell from these pictures, but I know there are a lot of fans of the man bun!!  I like the way Casey's face seems to be so ..... well, for lack of a better word.....perfect!!  Although we all know he is not, but he comes darn close, I think!  :)

I hope many fans come out to support Casey tonight.....I know Mickey from the Casey E James Fan Club on Facebook, will be there, along with others!  So if ya get a chance go by and say Hi to her!

I listened in on the last minute conference call and it was very CLEAR!!  Thanks so much Sara for calling in for us!!  The crowd was wild again!!!!  And singing along very loud!!!  That made me so very happy to hear people singing the lyrics to a lot of his music that came from his heart!!
There was quite a bit of talking in between songs, but it's difficult for me to understand his words, but his music comes thru loud and clear!  I did hear people yelling for him to sing "Never Walk Away"  But he didn't sing it.  His set list was once again, built around the crowd he had in front of him!!  The shows are never the same!!  And I love that about him!!  So many of the artists today do the same show over and over before changing things around.  Casey's show is different every time...and that....to me is golden!!  Who does that??  That's another of the things that sets him apart from everyone else.  It's like he custom builds every show for you!  Love it!!!  Here is his set list for tonight!

Nearly all of those songs are upbeat, pretty fast songs!!  And the crowd was loving every one of 'em!!!  :)

Ok, I was about to shut my computer down, when the familiar *DING* rung out from my phone!!  I knew immediately......it's Casey!!   Yep, he had 2 twitter parties today!!  They were small ones, but parties just the same.  Tonight's was about 15 or 20 minutes long, and he tweeted me, which I actually wasn't talking TO him, I was talking to a friend, and his name was in the convo too, so he just answered me...... :D

Thanks darlin!!! Im surprised hes on a tall stool!!! :)

Casey Everett James

@
yeah I don't like the tall stools. I can't stomp the floor or move as much on one.

Haha!!  I knew he didn't like those high stools for that reason!!  He's a musician....I've never seen one that don't like to stomp the floor on the high energy songs!!  :)  And it's obviously impossible to do on one of those!!  Ok, I'm a happy gal.  He answered way too many questions tonight for me to try to go through, but if you can read his timeline, and look at the 'in reply to' tweets, you'll have the question and answer!  :)
He told one tweeter that there were 4 songs on the album, that we had not heard.  I knew there had to be some, but I didn't know how many.  Still not sure how many of his original songs will be on the album though....

First pictures of the night are in!!!  The first is a cool group of fans, and since I'm not sure of the girl on the far right....I'm not going to name them.....but I do know the rest of them!!  :)  I'll correct this tomorrow, when I get her name.  I think it's Beth, but I'm not sure, so I'll wait till tomorrow! :)

Thanks to Darla S for her great shots!
Ok, that's all I have for tonight, hopefully tomorrow we will have video, so check back often!  :)

Casey James plays High Noon Saloon for radio US 101 WUSY in Chattenooga!

Casey took the stage tonight at about 7:00 pm EST and it was soon obvious that Casey was talkative again!!  My.....how I love it when he does this!!  Before some of the songs he would talk a little about it, or whatever crossed his mind at the moment!  LoL!!  He talked about a lot of different things tonight, all pertaining to music, I think!  I was listening in on a conference call and the talking parts of the show were difficult to understand, but when he sang.....Wooooo he would raise the roof!!!!  And the crowd was rowdy and loud and loving what they were hearing!!!  I was applauding here in my living room....lol!!!  You could tell he was satisfying every person's personal song wish as he delivered one scorching tune after the other!!  We will have video coming later, and pictures, but I'll go ahead and tell yall....this was one Bad *** show!!!  I so wish I could have been there!!!!
Thanks to @CoolCJfan early on for this picture of the stage area where Casey was playing tonight!
Because of twitter we got some really good feedback from the fans all during the show!!  It started off with Casey 'threatening' to play the classic southern rock tune....'Freebird'!  The crowd would have eaten that up....but he only teased them a little....as they yelled and pleaded for him to take off with it!!
He actually started his set with a bluesy tune, I had never heard him sing, called Georgia take me home.  It's an old Tab Benoit tune.  He also sang another of his songs before the night was over!!  But the crowd was WILD for what he was doing, and they kept yelling louder, screaming with passion, and even singing along at times!!!  This was a fantastic crowd, and you know Casey loved that!!!
Here are a couple pictures from twitter.....

Thanks to Donna C. for this shot
Thanks to Rhonda N. for this nice shot!
Before playing 'I Lied', which we haven't heard in quite some time, he told the crowd that he had written it with Tom Petty in mind, because he has always been a fan of his!!  Ok....good to know!  Because I too have always been a Tom Petty fan!!  :)

While he was chatting away at the crowd, he confirmed that 'The Good Life' was indeed on the album!!!!!  ok  yall.....that just made my entire...... rest of the year!!!!!!  Wooo Hoooo!!!  I love that song, and have hoped it would land on that album, due out in February!!

At one point during his show he asked the crowd to make some noise....One side and then the other....and let me tell ya....they were LOUD!!!!!  I think he likes all the noise.....he almost seems uncomfortable in silent situations!  Maybe it's because he's always played in all those bars for years, where he had to sing over the chatter.....hmmm

He exited the stage a little earlier than planned because he wanted to make sure he had time for the M&G.  Some were wondering what else was left on that setlist!  I'd like to know that too!!  He sang a 12 song set as it was.....I wonder what else he might have sang.....maybe 'So Sweet' which didn't make the cut tonight....or even 'Show Me a Bridge'.  Unless somebody got the setlist, we might never know.... :)
Here is the entire list of songs, he sang, in order they were sung:

Georgia (take me home)
I Lied

The Rock
Jailhouse Blues
So High

Everybody Thinks That Your Still Mine
The Good Life
Why I'm Feeling Blue

Love The Way You Miss Me

This Chattanooga show was a very high energy show, even though Casey told a fan he had a fever and his throat felt scratchy.  I knew he was getting worse!  Well, bless his heart, hopefully he can get some medicine that will get him through the next two shows, in Florida, so he can go home and get to the Dr. and get some really good medicine that will work.  I hope he goes to the Dr. anyway!  Medicine you buy over the counter only helps the 'symptoms' of colds and sinus problems, it takes antibiotics to get rid of the bad stuff.
Well, my wish is that he feels better tomorrow and has a great next 2 days before heading home from this 5 day radio tour!

Here is my friend Sylvia from Alabama, whom I've known for 4 years!  Seeing this picture just warms my heart!  Casey's music and sweet nature finally convinced her to go see a show, and she is walking on sunshine from the conversation I had earlier with her!!  She just loves Casey and his very sweet nature!  And loved his show....she was nearly speechless!!   NOT!!!  She was yacking  away with me earlier all about it!!  My battery finally died on my phone and we had to hang up, or we might still be talking about what a great show this was for her!!!   I couldn't be happier!!  I think Casey has gotten at least one more fan tonight!!!  LOL!!!!  But seriously,  we know....for a fact.....he got more than one more fan....he's making fans at every stop on this radio tour!!  I'm just so happy for him!!

That is one happy gal!!  Thanks Sylvia for the pictures and for all the talk about the show!!  :)

I just ran across this one earlier on twitter, and I think it's such a cute picture, I'm not sure exactly who took it, but what a great idea!  They were tweeting it with the caption....'Can you find find the Casey boot?  Or something close to that....lol!   Thanks to whoever this pic belongs to ... I love it!!!

Earlier in the day, Casey gave a guitar lesson to the lucky winner from the radio station!  Then at the end of the lesson, he gives her the guitar and signs it!!!  Congratulations to Sarah!!!  What a great prize to win!!!  Check it all out in the video below!!  Thanks to radio station US 101!!!
