2 New Shows for Casey James, new reviews, and show tomorrow in Portland, Oregon!

Hey there...!!  Casey has a show coming up tomorrow night in Portland, Oregon at the KPUL 98.8 radio station in their Bing Lounge at 7:00pm.  Click on the link above to read more about it!  I don't know yet if any fans we know will be there and able to do a conference call or not, I'm thinking since it is in a radio station there may not be any way to do that....but they should be able to get pictures and video.  We'll see what happens.  I'll be hanging out on twitter tomorrow night as much as I can anyway.....I got two finale's going on tomorrow night, at the same time, "Big Brother" and "America's Got Talent".  So not so sure how much I'll be talking and such, probably just watching for anything that may come through that's news worthy! :)

Casey has 2 new shows that have been added to his ever growing tour schedule!!  (It sounds so good to be saying that, a mere year and 8 months after a lot of us first discovered him...)  :)  :)  :)
The first one is on 9-29 in Isle of Palms, S.C.!!!  That is near Charleston, from what I gather.  He will be performing at the New Music Showcase  at Windjammer, sponsored by WIWF 96.9 the Wolf.  This is one of those 'you have to win to get in' Contests!  So make sure you listen to 96.9 The Wolf for your chance to get in to see Casey!!  Yay.....so glad the East Coast fans are finally getting some much needed Casey!!!!  The East coast has been a little bit left out lately and feeling so....  But, it looks like they are trying to book as many things together as possible.  It's not always possible...but I'm sure his booking agent tries to put as many together as possible.

The 2nd show is the 2011 Guitar Jam in Asheville, N.C. on 11-15 at the Orange Peel. This is a radio sponsored event, by station WKIS 99.9 Kiss Country.  It is also a Charity Event for the Mission Children's Hospital!  For $100 you can get a great VIP ticket, complete with M&G with the artists, a meal, a t-shirt, and a limited edition poster!!  But if that's not in your budget you can also purchase a $35 ticket to see Casey perform!!  Click HERE for directions to the Orange Peel, because the VIP tickets are only available at their box office!

Country Chart, the #1 independent country music charts magazine, had a fantastic review of "Let's Don't Call It A Night"!!  The writer said this about Casey and his new single.....

James' vocals are pure and crisp. While the new country artist was not previously known as a country singer during his brief-tv stint, his bluesy southern charm is a welcome addition to country music. Indeed, his Texas swagger and all-American good looks should also help jumpstart his country music career.

For the rest of the review, click HERE!  I have to say....that is one smoking hot review and I LOVED it!!!!!  Has anyone or (everybody) noticed that he has not had one bad review of that song??  Not even a little disappointment by anybody!!!  To me, that says a lot about Casey as an artist, and about the good choice of starting out with that particular tune! :)

K-Frog 92.9 radio station  have taken a liking to our Casey!!  They have a really nice photo gallery and a piece titled 'Get to know country newcomer, Casey James'!!  I just love radio stations like this!!  They have also been featuring Casey's new single on their 'Hop it or Drop it' segment of their show and are urging fans to vote for Casey's song!!  Click on the link and vote, Please & leave a comment if you can, so they know he has dedicated fans following his career!!  You just click on the stars to vote!

Well, I'm outta here for tonight, I'll leave you with a few pictures from the CMA fest in Nashville, earlier this year.....

Talk to yall soon....

Until tomorrow.....

Casey James is Live in Henderson, Ky. tonight....plus updates!

UPDATE: Videos from the show last night....scroll down.

Casey is LIVE tonight in Henderson, Kentucky at the "Taste of Country" concert, sponsored by radio stations 99.5 WKDQ and 92.5 WBKR.  His show starts tonight at 7:10 central time, and should go on for about an hour.   Also there is a Conference Call from the show, compliments of Casey fan @ridgef and The Casey James Blog .  The # to call is....1-712-432-0075 and when prompted enter the code....654945  and you should be in.

One of the DJ's, Eric Cornish recieved a call from Casey, and he says they had some laughs with Casey, and he also became the Dashboard DJ.  Click HERE to hear both the interview and the Dashboard DJ segment!!  They are both just awesome!!!

We got the news earlier this week, that Casey will only have a 3 piece band tonight.  Seems Billy Nobel, the Keyboardist could not make this show.  Casey still has the bass player, Nolan Verner, and his drummer, Johnny Richardson, called 'the clock' for some reason. :)  He said it will feel like it used to with only 3 members playing, and the music would be molded around those three tonight.  So we may hear something 'new' tonight!  Let's hope so, he's really been doling out some keepers lately!!

By the way, while you are over at the Casey James Blog, Check out this awesome story, of one of our own Casey Fans, and how a multitude of those fans have came together to make a dream come true for her!  Barbara is a breast cancer survivor and is still having treatments for it.  Read  "Goodness is Contagious"  and have tissues ready, for this is one of those pieces that will put a lump in your throat and tears in your eyes.  If you would like to be in on the donation, you can contact @marieleathem1 on twitter or Marie Leathem on Facebook, and she will fill you in on how to make a donation toward this awesome charity.  I didn't say what the dream was and the charity, because I didn't want to give away what the story is about.  Go read it, and you'll know....
It was so awesome in fact, Casey even tweeted about it!!!  Check it out below!!

Ok, from here on out, I'll be posting about the show in Henderson, Ky. tonight!  Tootles!!

Ok everybody, I'm gonna go hang out on twitter a while and listen in to the conference call and chat with some of the fans!!  Join me there, and check back later for updates as the night goes on....

Later..... :)

Ok, I'm back!!

Earlier tonight before Casey took the stage, Chad and Jaclyn from WBKR 92.5 radio got a chance to have a few words with him.  Jaclyn liked the way Casey smelled....(imagine that...) and proceeded to sniff his shoulder area....lol...ok, that was funny, I can't believe she did that! :)  Then she tried to get him to race her down the track, but Casey wanted to play frizbee with her instead...lol.....and she wasn't having any of that!!  It's fun bantering back and forth with them for about 1 1/2 minutes!! :)  Very cute, check out the video below!

And here is a really nice shot of Casey and Jaclyn.

Casey just tweeted about his experience tonight!!  And his first part of the tweet before the link to the yellow note was so funny....here's how he addressed us:

Casey Everett James

Hola/howdy/yo/hi.....;)

Hahahahaha!!!!  I can see this now....being repeated EVERYWHERE!!!  Hahahahaha!!  Hola/howdy/yo/hi  I can honestly say, I've never seen anyone addressed like that!!  I guess that's why it's so funny!!

He's such a doll face!!!  :)  I'll be back later when there's more!

:)

I'm back!!   There were quite a few tweets tonight about Casey's performance at the time the show was going on and some afterwards as well....Here's what some of them said:

OmG I finally got to meet n hug Casey James!

His show started a little earlier than what was posted, and he only performed 7 songs.  He referred to only having 2 band members, plus himself tonight, as 'the good old days', back when he and 2 others is what he mostly played with.  Here are the songs her performed in the order in which they were sang:

Green Light Girl

She's Money

Let's Don't Call It A Night

Too Sweet For Me

Til' My Guitar

Drive

Done Made Up My Mind

Yep, only 7 songs....he's done acoustic sets longer than that!  Oh well, I guess you take what you can get!  And we know he wanted to play more, and his day will come, when he can play the long shows all the time!
Here is the best photo that has come through, there will be more soon.

Thanks to Jen Lloyd for this nice shot!

That's all we have for tonight, no videos yet, but probably tomorrow, we can hope to get some!!  I'll update this post and add them here when I find them!!

Positive feedback for Casey James & new single...and new show added!!

There is quite a bit of positive single reviews, articles and interviews going on these last few days!!  It's always good to see this, especially when they are all good!!!  When yall finish reading things like this, if there is a way to comment, please take just a little time and leave a comment thanking the site for their support of Casey.

First up is a music review of Casey's new single from Today's Country Magazine.  They had this to say about Casey and "Let's Don't Call It A Night":

Though I am not a fan these days of what American Idol has become through the years, there is no denying the impact the music industry has felt because of it. However, every once in a while someone comes along that captures my attention and Casey James did just that with his blues infused Southern rock vibes that combine perfectly with a stripped down singer/songwriter feel. With his debut single “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night,” James brings all of that to the table, but turns up the sexiness just a bit more than expected making this a very solid debut single.
To read the whole review, click on the link above.

A few months back, Roughstock did a 'Top 10 to watch for in 2011'.  Casey James was on that list, and they are following up with this awesome article titled "New Artist Spotlight".  Here is a quote from the writer, Chuck Dauphin....

The 19 Recordings / BNA newcomer has been finding out just what it takes to build a career in 2011, as he has been meeting tons of radio executives and media to promote his first single for the label, “Let’s Don’t Call It A Night.” To say the song has a soulful undertone is something of an understatement.
To read more of his article, click the link above.

Nashville's New Country
features new artists from Nashville and around the country.  Here, we have a podcast of a very nice mention of Casey and LDCIAN!!   Click the link above and listen.  It's about the 14 minute mark before you hear him announce what Casey says about it, then talking about him and the song and then the song starts playing!!  :)  So cool.... :)

New show!!!!  Casey will be just one of the artists at the  Rising Star Songwriters Showcase, on October 12th in Akron, Ohio, sponsored by radio station WQMX 94.9 .  The show will take place at the Tangier at 532 West market St.  All procedes will benefit  Muffins for Mammograms. There are VIP tickets with meet and greets you can purchase!  Click the 1st link above to check it all out!

A while back, Casey was on the Big D and Bubba show and they tweeted this picture and message!  I don't think I ever posted this, and I wanted everyone to see the look on his face....so funny!!!  :D

@bigdandbubba hey @blakeshelton - @CaseyEJames wants ur wedding gift  :))))

LMBO!!!!  I love the sign....MINE :)  Haha!!!  And the look on his face is priceless!!!!  love it!!

Casey sent us this tweet earlier today.....

I just got a text from one of my friends in L.A. I just copied the text and pasted it on a note. Pretty awesome! :)

That IS awesome!!!  Hmmmm wonder who the friend was??   Noooo..... (joking) I'm just being nosy now!!  :)  I just wish we could get the hometown stations to play his new single!!!  I can't get started on that....I just get so upset at them!!  They should have played it first, in my opinion.  And that's all I'll say about that....
So yall please don't forget to call your local radio station and request Casey's song at least once a day.  Keep requesting even though they say they don't have it, or they'll try to get it on.  Sometimes they won't play it....and I guess since I have these 2 large markets to deal with, I'm not used to getting my request played.  But the smaller ones are certainly playing it, and there are some larger markets playing now.  Also, it would help alot if everyone reading this could click on the support tab up at the top and click on the mediabase links and request his song that way.  These in the first column are all the stations playing, or have played it before.  The ones below, the Monitored Stations, are all of them that are monitored and how they rank in the country.  Thanks to the Casey James Blog for keeping up with all this record following stuff.....there were 7 station adds this week!!  Thats amazing!  You only have to put a check by Casey's song, on the mediabase page and put in your name at the bottom then the code and hit submit.  Takes about 30 seconds.  Its a small price to pay, to help Casey's career.  He works so hard for us, it's the least we can do....

Well, thats all I have for now, check back often to see if there is anything new.....take care....

Until next time.....

Another New Show added for Casey James....

There was a new show added a couple days ago, and I was just waiting to see if anything else came through, but things are a little quiet right now.  The new show is scheduled to be on September 22, and it's in Louis Park, Minnesota.  The show will be held at 'Toby Keith's 'I Love This Bar'...He will start his set at 9:30, so get there early to get a good spot close to the stage!!   And get ready all you northern fans....buy those $5 Tickets and  get those road trips planned out!!  Haha!  I can say one thing....after they see and hear how awesome Casey is, they are gonna be wishing they had charged $20 for him, instead of $5!!  But that is a very good price for all our fans who are going!!

Ok, that's it for now....just wanted to get this show posted!  Yall have a great Holiday weekend!!

Until next time.....

Casey James

A singer and guitarist from Fort Worth, Texas, Casey James was the third-place finalist on the 9th season of American Idol before being eliminated on May 19, 2010. James had tried out for and been selected to compete in the ninth season of Idol in 2009 in spite of the fact that he had never seen the show.  He was the oldest contestant to be selected for the Top 24 of the ninth season at the age of 27. During the finale of American Idol, he performed a duet of "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" with Bret Michaels.

James has been working on his debut record writing songs and auditioning band members. He has been collaborating with some of country music’s best songwriters including Aimee Mayo, Jaren Johnston, Alabama’s Randy Owen, Sugarland’s Kristian Bush, Delbert McClinton and Grammy-winner Tom Douglas. He’s also been doing what he loves, playing before live audiences from coast to coast. He has opened for Sugarland on their Incredible Machine Tour and has been playing other solo and opening gigs including performing at the ACM Awards after party and 2011 CMA Fest.

I hope many fans and friends get to go to this event!!

On September 16th, the folks in Bakersfield, California will be in for a treat as Casey rolls into their town!!  Got lots of fans and friends out there as well!!  Radio station KUZZ 107.9 has already been playing Casey's new single and will sponsor a live show with Casey at the Buck Owens Crystal Palace!!  Casey will go on at 7:00.  I've heard for years about this beautiful place owned by Buck Owens, and always wanted to go there!  It's a piece of Country Music History just like Buck is!!  I'm assuming his family still own it, since Buck passed away in 2006.

I remember when I was a kid, every Saturday night we would be seated in front of the television to watch all the country music shows, and The Buck Owens Show and Hee Haw were my two very favorites!!  Buck is a legend in Country Music, and Casey will probably be in awe.  And....did yall know that Buck was the musical idol of Honky Tonk artist, Dwight Yoakam?  And because of their duet, "Streets of Bakersfield", Dwight received his first #1 single!!!  Just a little Buck info for yall.

Ok, the third show will be in Portland, Oregon, on September 14th.  The show will be in the Bing Lounge of the 98.7 KUPL radio station!  Read what the station has to say about it!

Wednesday, September 14

Casey is an American singer and guitarist from Fort Worth, Texas, who was the third-place finalist on the ninth season of American Idol.
James started playing the guitar at 13 and within a year was playing on stage. James has played acoustic sets with his mother, Debra "Bybee" James, and blues with his older brother, Billy Cole. He has also played with country and rock bands.
James was a contestant on American Idol during its ninth season. He made it to the Top 3 before being eliminated on May 19, 2010. James had tried out for and been selected to compete in the ninth season of Idol in 2009 in spite of the fact that he had never seen the show.
On August 17, 2010, it was announced that James had signed with Sony Music Nashville and his debut album will be released on 19 Recordings/BNA Records in 2011. Now we're very excited to have him visit us and our amazing listeners!!

Ok, here is a picture that is one of the "BEST" shots from a show by a fan I might have ever seen!!  It's from Alexandria, Ky. and he's in that blue shirt that seems to be the exact same color as his eyes!  I wonder....if he bought that shirt himself, or was it given to him....?  If he bought it himself, he has excellent taste in clothing and knows what looks good on him.  I wonder if he knows how much it enhances those 'baby blues'!!? hehehe!  Ok, remember everybody....it's all about the music.....say it with me.....'it's all about the music'....ect.....ect.... Ok.....now look!!!

Thanks to Gail V. for this excellent shot! :)

Tomorrow I will update the Alexandria show with videos that came in today.  I've been out and about, so didn't have time to get them on tonight!  But hopefully there will be some video from Lexington by tomorrow as well.  There might have been some today, but I just didn't have time to look them up!

Gotta go....yall take care.....
Until next time.....
